We are extremely honoured to have been working with His Majesty The King's garden team at Highgrove House and Gardens, Tetbury for many years now, recording, maintaining and expanding their National Collection of Large Leaf and Giant Hostas.
The National Collection at Highgrove House and Gardens is displayed throughout their incredible stumpery. The hostas are accompanied by Ferns and Gunnera, amongst a host of other shade loving plants. His Majesty's love for hostas is made very clear with 167 varieties throughout the stumpery and surrounding areas. More information on the stumpery can be found by clicking here.
Our work at Highgrove House and Gardens started 7 years ago when we were asked to assist in identifying and recording their National Collection. Due to the amount of varieties and the similarities amongst many of the classic giant cultivar, this was no mean feat. The full identification process took several seasons to complete and is being constantly updated to this day. In addition to assisting in identification, we have also supplied new cultivars to help expand the collection. Our work at the garden continues and will always be a huge source of pride to us to be involved in such a prestigious collection.
